Egmont National Park
Egmont National Park is located in the Taranaki reigon of New Zealand. Mt Taranaki (or Mt Egmont as it is also known) is 2,518 metres tall and offers many outdoors activities such as over 200km of walking tracks through untouched bush, clear streams and mystical forests. Tracks range from 15 minute family-friendly walks to the three-to-five day around the mountain hike. more
Mt Taranaki’s most popular hiking tracks are the very challenging summit track in summer and the Pouakai Crossing which can be walked year-round. Caution: When exploring Mt Taranaki, be prepared for rapidly changing weather conditions. Contact the Department of Conservation or your closest i-SITE information centre for advice before you attempt the more challenging tracks. If in doubt, book a guided mountain walk.
